Issues and drawbacks of urban transportation in Ukraine
The implementation of an electronic ticket in public transportation remains a pressing issue in Ukraine. This pertains not only to the inadequate quality of passenger transport services but also to the lack of transparency in financial transactions and record-keeping. Let's delve into the details of the "E-ticket," its advantages, challenges, and the overall necessity of this modern electronic service in every populated area.
Issues and drawbacks of urban transportation in Ukraine:
As of today, the system of urban passenger transportation in Ukraine operates inefficiently, non-transparently, and with low-quality service. This is attributed to several factors:
1. Lack of transparency in financial transactions in transportation: Inadequate control over financial operations in transport companies facilitates illegal financial transactions and subpar service quality.
2. Insufficient data on the number of transported passengers: The lack of information about transport volumes complicates route planning and optimization.
3. Absence of statistical data on transportation of preferential categories of citizens: This hinders the rational allocation of resources for social programs and preferential tariffs.
4. Unreliable information about the state of the transportation network: The absence of objective data on the profitability of routes and infrastructure conditions hampers effective system management.
5. Absence of monitoring of subsidies for transportation infrastructure: There is a need for monitoring funding and the effectiveness of infrastructure projects.
6. Lack of a centralized control and regulation system: The absence of a central authority for monitoring and analyzing data on public transportation complicates system management and control.
All these factors lead to a deterioration in the technical condition of transport vehicles, illegal financial transactions, and inefficient financial and economic activities in transport companies. However, the most critical issue is the absence of quality monitoring, analysis, and control over public transportation both at the national level and within local amalgamated territorial communities.
